1. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following categories:
- Account information: Name, email address, company name, and password when you register for a client account.
- Order information: Property address, site description, and any notes you submit when placing a report order.
- Payment information: Billing details processed through our secure payment provider. Geoscope Solutions does not store full card numbers on its servers.
- Usage data: Basic request data (such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps) that our servers record to run and secure the service. We also keep a simple visit count that records the page viewed, the referring website, country and region, and device type. It stores no IP address and sets no cookies, and it uses a one-way daily code to count a visitor once per day. We also use Google Analytics, which collects pages visited, features used and device information.
- Communications: Emails or messages you send us through our contact form or support channels.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Fulfill and deliver environmental report orders
- Create and manage your client account
- Process payments and issue receipts
- Communicate order status updates and support responses
- Improve our platform, data accuracy, and reporting quality
- Send occasional service announcements or updates (you may opt out at any time)
- Comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Environmental Data Sources
Our reports draw from a combination of government databases (federal, state, and local environmental agencies) and licensed third-party data providers. Property addresses and coordinates you submit are used solely to query and assemble the relevant environmental records for your report.
Environmental records retrieved during your report are retained as part of your order history. You may request deletion of your order data by contacting us (see Section 8).
Government databases sometimes list the names and business contact details of people connected to a facility, such as an owner or site contact. When a report includes them, they come from the source agency's public record and are shown only as part of that record. We do not add to them or use them for any other purpose. If you have a concern about a record, contact us and we will tell you which agency publishes it.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS encryption in transit, access controls, and secure cloud infrastructure to protect your information. Our platform is hosted on SOC-2 compliant infrastructure.
While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong password and keep your account credentials confidential.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Order records are retained for a minimum of five (5) years to support potential regulatory inquiries and client reference needs. Usage logs are retained for up to twelve (12) months. You may request deletion of personal information at any time (see Section 8), subject to our legal retention obligations.
8. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of these rights:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- delete your personal information;
- receive a copy of it in a portable format;
- object to or ask us to restrict certain uses, and withdraw any consent you gave (withdrawing does not affect earlier use); and
- opt out of marketing emails at any time, using the link in the email or by writing to us.
